Celebrating 103 Years of the Republic: “One Story, a Thousand Futures”

Irmak Schools celebrated 29 October Republic Day with a special ceremony at the Irmak Auditorium under the theme “One Story, a Thousand Futures.” Marking the 103rd anniversary of our Republic, students, teachers and parents came together to share the joy and pride of this occasion.

Held on Thursday, October 29, the ceremony brought the story of the Republic, which began with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s belief in the future of a nation, to the stage. This journey from past to present connected our shared history with our children’s dreams and hopes for tomorrow.

Video presentations and a speech by our General Manager, Mr. Metin Yoleri, highlighted the meaning and significance of the day. A choral recitation featuring students, teachers and parents brought a spirit of unity and solidarity to the celebration.

Traditional Zeybek and waltz performances reflecting different periods of the Republic, alongside choir performances and marching band presentations, brought the values of independence, freedom, equality and modernization to life through the arts.

The ceremony was guided by the belief that the Republic is more than a success story written in the past. It is a living legacy, continually shaped by the ideas, efforts and dreams of each generation. We listened to the voices of our children, who will write the next chapters of our nation’s story along the path paved by Atatürk.

Bringing the legacy of the past together with the hopes of the future, the celebration reaffirmed our shared responsibility to uphold the values of the Republic and pass them on to future generations.

We honour Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic, with love, respect and gratitude.

For the Republic began with one story and will live on through a thousand futures.
